It’s St. Valentine’s Day this month. A time to celebrate love and romance – which is awesome if you have love and romance in your life, not so awesome when you don’t.

I was one of those people who spent years hating St. Valentine’s Day because I didn’t have that special someone to share it with. Correction, I hated myself on St. Valentine’s Day because it was a painful reminder that I didn’t have the friends or the relationships in my life that were being celebrated on that day.

If only I knew then what I know now…… that the search for your true soulmate begins within yourself.

If you don’t know who you are, really are – at your soul-deep level, then it is very difficult to find your true soulmate.

Now, I’m not talking about Self-Love here, although it is really difficult to find your soulmate if you don’t love yourself, because, after all, the Universe can only be as good to you as you are to yourself. But what I am referring to here is knowing what makes you smile, what your passions are, what you love to do, what intentions you are setting in your life, what your personal core values (or soul-codes) are. These are the guides that show you who your authentic self is, will help you live your life on purpose, and will help you identify and attract your soulmate.

“You are about 100 times more likely to attract that special someone if you’re living your life on purpose, full out, with gusto.” (Score Your Soulmate, page 24)

If only Lisa Hayes’ book, Score Your Soulmate, had been available for me to read back then…….

Once you have begun to live your life on purpose, from your authentic self, there are a couple of additional little tricks that I would like to share with you, that can help you attract your soulmate:

Creating a new reality, one in which you are enjoying your ideal relationship, is all about managing vibrations and focusing them on what you are trying to manifest. To this end there are a number of magical practices that can help do exactly this.

Love Energy Foods for Soulmate Magic

For centuries, people have practiced food magic, recognising that food contains more than just vitamins and minerals that are beneficial to our health, food also contains energies that can boost specific activities or desires, like finding love and romance.

Fruits like apples, bananas, avocados, cherries, mango, nectarine, oranges, papaya, passion fruit, peaches, pineapple, and strawberries can be eaten raw, baked into pies, drunk as fruit juice, etc. When you visualize yourself in an ideal loving relationship while you prepare these fruits or eat these fruits, the energy you send out to manifest your ideal loving relationship will be amped up, made more powerful and effective. Try baking an apple or a cherry or a strawberry-rhubarb pie, lightly carving a heart in the bottom crust. Visualize yourself in a loving relationship while you make the pie. Then eat one slice of the pie each day until the pie is finished, again visualizing being in a loving relationship while you eat the pie.

Herbs and Spices like anise, basil, caraway, cardamom, chicory, cinnamon, cloves, coriander, dill, ginger, liquorice, marjoram, poppy seeds, rose, rosemary, thyme, and vanilla all book your love energy. Again visualize being in a loving relationship when you use any of these herbs and spices to amp up your relationship-building manifestations.

Visualize what it would be like to be in a loving relationship (what does it feel like, what activities would you be doing together) whenever you use sugar or maple syrup in your coffee, or tea, in a recipe or on anything. This will help amp up your love attracting energy.

Vegetables like beets, peas, rhubarb, tomatoes and truffles are also powerful love energy enhancers when used along with visualization.

The following is a recipe for a delicious Chocolate Banana Bread (originally from Epicurious Magazine) that is loaded with love energy ingredients:

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 – 50 minutes in a 9x5x3 inch loaf pan that has been greased and dusted with flour.

Ingredients:

  • 1 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup mashed banana (about 2 large or 3 medium bananas) (love energy)
  • 3 tablespoons sour cream (love energy)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla (do not use artificial vanilla) (love energy)
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 1 cup sugar (love energy)
  • 1 large egg, at room temperature (love energy)
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder (love energy)
  • Optional Extras:
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips (love energy)
    • 1 cup chopped brazil nuts (love energy)

Visualize your ideal loving relationship while you make and eat this Chocolate Banana Bread.

To make:

banana_breadSift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt into a large bowl.

In a medium bowl, combine the banana, sour cream and vanilla.

In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine the butter and sugar and beat on medium until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add the egg and beat on medium until completely incorporated, about 1 minute. Add the banana mixture and beat for about 30 seconds. Add the flour mixture in 2 batches and stir on low until incorporated, about 30 seconds. Add nuts and chocolate chips if desired.

Pour into prepared loaf pan and bake until a wooden toothpick inserted into the centre of the loaf emerges clean.

To amp up the love energy of this Chocolate Banana Bread, serve with vanilla ice cream (love energy), chocolate sauce (love energy), strawberries (love energy) or whipped cream (love energy).

One of the easiest ways to add Soulmate Magic to your life is to create a personal altar somewhere in your home. On the altar you would place items, statues, crystals, flowers, etc., that have strong soulmate/love energy. Oh, and Fridays appear to be the best day of the week to focus on your love energy, as Fridays are ruled by Venus :)

Some items that could be used on a Soulmate Altar include:

Crystals and Stones for Soulmate Magic

All crystals and stones produce energy or vibrations that are attuned to specific outcomes. For love and relationships some of the best crystals and stones you can use on a Soulmate Altar include rose quartz (love, romance and self-love, known as the ‘Love Stone”; Green Malachite (stimulates and balances the heart chakra, opens the heart, attracts new love); Green Jade (attracts love and romance, and harmonises relationships); Green Aventurine (the stone of love and luck, attracts new love into your life); Rhodochrosite (a beautiful pink stone that is layered and marbles with pinks and white, attracts new love and boosts self love).

Flowers and Colours for Soulmate Magic

Flowers and colour add their own vibrations and energy to any altar. For a Soulmate Altar, use pinks as an altar cloth or ribbons, and appropriate flowers for a Soulmate Altar include Peonies (for a happy marriage); Red Roses (for romantic love, desire, and respect); Pink Roses (for love, grace, perfect happiness and gratitude); Pink/White Roses (for everlasting love); Blue Violets (for faithfulness and love); Gladiola (for love at first sight) and Orchids (for magnificence, love, beauty, and refinement).

Goddesses and God Statues for Soulmate Magic

If you really want to amp up the love and soulmate energies, you could also add a few statues or images of Goddesses and Gods who are associated with love. Cliodhna is the irish Goddess of Love; Hathor is the Egyptian Goddess of Love; Eros is the Greek version of Cupid; Freyja is the Norse goddess of Love; Aphrodite is the Greek Goddess of Love; Inanna is the Sumerian Goddess of Love; Parvati is the Hindu Goddess of love; and Venus is the Roman Goddess of Love.

It all begins with you!

As you can see, there is a lot of choice when it comes to amping up your love or soulmate energy. Everything from food to crystals to flowers to colours are all there to assist you with this adventure.

But the best place to start this adventure really is within yourself, exploring who you are, what you want, where your passions lie. And Lisa M. Hayes’ book Score Your Soulmate is, without doubt, the best book I have read on finding love and building relationships.

Lisa M. Hayes, the founder of the Score Your Soulmate, wrote a book about how to build a life you love and attract the love of your life. This is a must read for any deliberate creator or anyone who’s been looking for love in all the wrong places. You can grab a copy HERE.
